HOW TO GET THERE:
Known as Ripomarancia until the fourteenth century, then Ripomarance or Pomarance, was the center of legal battle for its possession between the bishops and the town of Volterra.
At the heart of the Val di Cecina on the spur which separates the valley of Trossa has evolved from medieval to modern city.
Here the painter-architect, was born Cristoforo Roncalli, known as Pomarancio.
In the medieval village are the three gates, the square of San Dalmazio Mugnaini and the house of Ricci-twelfth century.
The church of St. John the Baptist holds works of seventeenth-century five-Pomarancio.
The Town Hall originally from the fourteenth century, has many arms of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
On the main street there are some buildings and the great Renaissance palace of the family Larderei.
The village of Larderello, with the geothermal industry and the "Valley of the Devil", is known for the exploitation of the geysers.
The museum illustrates the history Larderei use of these geothermal by man.
